As our work gains momentum, we’re looking for passionate, mission-aligned individuals to help us grow our impact. We’re currently seeking volunteer leaders to fill the following key roles below.
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Hours: Flexible / Part Time

Who we are: The Progressive Bitcoiner, Inc. is a Massachusetts based 501c3 nonprofit exploring Bitcoin as a tool for economic justice, climate action, social good and beyond.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Policy and Research will lead our research and public policy efforts as a progressive think tank focusing on progressive use-cases of Bitcoin.This role will be central to shaping how policymakers and the public understand Bitcoin’s potential for human rights, economic inclusion, climate resilience, social justice and other progressive topics.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of policy briefs, memos, and research papers
- Conduct and manage research on Bitcoin use cases relevant to progressive issues
- Monitor legislation and provide analysis relevant to our mission
- Collaborate with our media team to translate research into accessible content
- Represent the organization in policy and advocacy discussions when needed
Qualifications:
- Experience in public policy, advocacy, or academic research
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Understanding of Bitcoin and its relevance to progressive policy areas
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance oversees our financial operations, ensuring The Progressive Bitcoiner remains fiscally responsible and transparent as we grow. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and supporting Bitcoin-based financial activity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage budgets, financial reports, and nonprofit compliance filings
- Oversee payroll (once applicable) and donation tracking
- Ensure financial procedures meet 501(c)(3) standards
- Assist in integrating Bitcoin accounting and treasury management
- Collaborate with leadership on financial planning
Qualifications:
- Experience in nonprofit or organizational finance
- Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems
- Understanding of Bitcoin and crypto-related financial practices
- Detail-oriented, ethical, and organized

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development leads our fundraising strategy and builds a sustainable base of support. You’ll develop campaigns, write grants, and cultivate donor relationships—especially among those who align with our mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Lead fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategy
- Research and write grant applications
- Build relationships with individual and institutional donors
- Coordinate grassroots and recurring giving efforts, including Bitcoin donations
- Work with communications to align fundraising with messaging
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fundraising, development, or grant writing
- Strong networking and communication skills
- Understanding of Bitcoin and nonprofit fundraising
- Strategic, collaborative, and creative thinker
